The village-to-village trek from Limalimo to AdiArkay is my favorite walk in Ethiopia and I have done it twice, most recently in January, 2018.  Covering about 50 miles in 8-10 days, the trek is moderately strenuous in part due to the roughness of the trails and in part to the many ascents and descents.  The appeal is the volcanic landscape, reminiscent of Monument valley in Arizona, and the extraordinarily friendly and welcoming people I meet along the way.  Although the trek is mostly within the boundary of Simien Mountain National Park, I have never met any other foreign tourists.   I am indebted to Solomon Girmay, my guide and friend, and his team at Siemien Ecotours for making this trek possible.
